JPA completed the first phase of this large, continuing care residential development on the campus of the historic Dayton VA Medical Center. This project includes site and building master planning for future phases, archaeological and historic research, and coordination with the state historic preservation office (SHPO). The design is based on the Small House Model, creating private spaces with a neighborhood feel. The project also created a program of requirements for this project and future phases. This is the first phase of 12 buildings, each of which will house 12 patients in a private room atmosphere. The first phase was designed to LEED V3.1 Silver standards with many unique energy efficient features.
